This event has me really excited. Years of "wouldn't it be cool to do something" have led to this evening. In May of 1993 I recorded Simple Folks and Heroes live at 23 EAST Cabaret. Chris McCord, Jim Stager, Erik Johnson, and I plowed through four sets and created what is arguably one of, if not the, best things I’ve ever done. The album was originally released in 1994 and then re-released for US/European Distribution in 1996 by Global Media in NYC. Recently I reconnected with Jim and Erik. Both expressed interest in doing a reunion anniversary show and I think Chris and I were always onboard. As this event begins to take shape, I want to rekindle that vibe we created that night and create a Simple Folks and Heroes Unplugged album. Dave Young, who recorded Delco at the Kelly Center back in October of 2019, is going to return to engineer the Simple Folks project. Like the original 1993 concert, we want to enjoy the night and bring the audience along for the ride.
I hope you can come and join us!

It's just a typical fear of the ocean and they'll never rule your heart."

The song "Magical Spread"

I had recently posted the chords and lyrics to this song by request and then this past week I see it pop up on a Spotify playlist called "Kids". Suddenly I'm listening to my own song with a completely different perspective. Pretty cool!

Thanks to all who came to Bowling Night at the Kelly Center!
